The Institute has expertise in the development and implementation environmental management systems (EMS) for private and public sector organisations based on ISO 14001 EMS and other management systems. It has experienced EMS practitioners who have implemented EMS and environmental auditing at international level.
IHES has professionals with expertise in conducting strategic and project level environmental and social impact assessments and experienced in conducting environmental audits. Our experts have in the past guided organisations to implement robust environmental programs and guided in developing and implementing sustainable business processes taking into account the lifecycle perspective. This normally results in improved reputation of the organisations and increased efficiency.
IHES team of experts has skills in designing and implementing payment for ecosystem services schemes and in guiding governments to design and implement innovative environmental and climate change policies. Team members have been engaged in designing and implementing conservation finance programmes that have benefited communities, local governments and ecosystems. In addition, the team has expertise in designing and implementing watershed management projects.
The Institute’s team has over ten years’ experience in designing and implementing waste management procedures. They have expertise in handling municipal waste, medical waste and highly toxic waste.
IHES experts are very experienced in designing and implementing tailor-made training programmes in different aspects of environmental management. These include trainings in EMS, Environmental auditing, sustainable procurement procedures, environmental and social impact assessments and site investigations, waste management technologies and environmental policy design and implementation.
